The government has identified problems with HIPs caused by unsatisfactory title evidence being included by some HIP providers.  As a result buyers’ lawyers have rejected those HIPs that do not conform to the regulations resulting in delay.  However, estate agents that have been using Firsthips HIP assembly and e-conveyancing system have acknowledged its added value in providing lawyer prepared HIPs.

In response to government concerns and scepticism within the industry, Firsthips has identified that an important ingredient in achieving a more efficient house buying and selling process is immediate access for buyers’ lawyers to HIP documents.  In a recent internal survey Firsthips revealed that exchange times could be shortened by up to 10 days when the buyer’s lawyer has been able to access the HIP online through the Firsthips system.  Firsthips also confirms that the speed and efficiency of the HIP assembly process is considerably improved when used in conjunction with secure communication between parties via the Firsthips integrated message centre.
