‘Dreams and Visions’ mixtape showcases collaborations with artists

Elijah Akeem , widely tipped as one of the US’s hottest new producers, is releasing a new mixtape featuring his collaborations with artists from across the country. ‘Dreams and Visions’, which will be avaialble from elijahakeem.com in March, features musicians from New York to LA, all backed by Akeem’s trademark fusion of hip-hop, electronic and soul production.

Akeem, a 22-year-old Cleveland native who’s also known as an entrepreneur and for his work in fashion, intends ‘Dreams and Visions’ to be a platform for up-and-coming artists to widen their fanbase, as well as showcasing his own production work. “I come across great musicians every day, from all parts of the country,” says Akeem, “and I want to help them reach a new audience. Plus collaborating with talented peple is the best way for me to keep testing my skills and bringing out new elements in what I do.”

‘Dreams and Visions’ follows Akeem’s acclaimed ‘No Words Needed’ mixtape – a diverse set of instrumentals that shows off the diversity and imagination of his production talents. On this new collection, Akeem collaborates with artists including Blak on the track "Flight Skool", and the track "Take It Low" sees Akeem team up with Emory Fobes (Baltimore),The Frat Boyz (New York),and Mjjay (Philly) from which draws on their common love of club music.

A music producer and musician since the age of 11, Akeem credits the classics such as Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and Stevie Wonder’s ‘Innervisions’ as inspirations – although he’s best known for incorporating soul and jazz influences into his tracks. Whatever influences he draws on, Akeem’s innovative style is 100% his own – and ‘Dreams and Visions’ sees him go from strength to strength.
